INDIANA, Pa. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania softball program recognized its senior dynamic twin duo of
Faith Jones and
Hope Jones before Sunday's doubleheader against Mercyhurst, falling in both games, 10-1 and 6-1.
Â
The Crimson Hawks netted themselves just nine baserunners over 14 innings worth of softball with
Paige Truax (two singles),
Jordan Sylvia (two singles), and
Delaney Patella (one single, one walk) made up six of those.
Â
Truax stole a pair of bases during her two-for-three (.667) opener, coming around the score that contest's only run for the home nine.
Â
Sylvia also had two hits in three at-bats but hers came in the back half of the twin-bill in which she logged a stolen base as well.
Â
Madison Pikula roped the team's only extra-base hit of the afternoon, a double to left field before scoring on a passed ball later in the frame.
Â
Patella had the lone RBI by a Crimson Hawk on one of her singles,
Jess Cekada tallied a base knock, and
Lexi Dawson reached via base on balls.
Â
Indiana (PA) sits at 22-21 (.512) overall and 13-13 (.500) in the PSAC as it attempts to stay at or above the .500 mark on Tuesday at Clarion.
