LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – A total of 234 Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) student-athletes were recognized as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athletes, the league announced Wednesday. Student-athletes are named PSAC Scholar-Athletes for maintaining a cumulative 3.25 GPA during the 2022-23 academic year.
A total of 146 females and 88 males comprised the list of 2022-23 PSAC Scholar-Athletes for IUP.
Just over 70 percent of IUP's female student-athletes closed out the academic year with a 3.25 cumulative GPA or higher, while around 47 percent of male student-athletes met the minimum GPA criteria.
As a department, IUP placed just over 59 percent of its 394 total student-athletes on the PSAC Scholar-Athlete listing. Two-sport athletes are only counted once for the purposes of this list.
Overall, the PSAC had 3,794 Scholar-Athletes across the 18 member institutions in the league. In total, 52 percent of the conference's student-athletes were awarded PSAC Scholar-Athlete distinction.
IUP ranked seventh in the league in PSAC Scholar-Athletes and fourth among public institutions.
PSAC Scholar-Athlete awards are submitted by the compliance offices at each of the league's 18 member institutions. The complete breakdown of IUP's Scholar-Athletes for 2022-23 can be found below with an asterisk beside those earning a 4.00 cumulative GPA:
