Tiffin, Ohio – IUP (5-1-2, 4-1-2) had no trouble finding the net today in their matchup against Tiffin (1-9-1, 1-5-1), earning a 4-1 victory over the Dragons.
IUP's goals were contributed by four different scorers this afternoon.
Early on in the game, IUP's
Julia Csernyik started the rally against Tiffin, with a goal only 22 minutes into the first half, set up by a direct throw in from
Adi Myers. The goal scored by Csernyik was only the beginning to the Crimson Hawk's relentless offense. With a little over five minutes left in the first half,
Hannah Scardina scored her sixth goal of the season off of a penalty kick drawn from a Tiffin player.
Halfway through the second half, the Crimson Hawks'
Elle Smith scored a low goal, increasing their lead to 3-1. With only three minutes remaining in the second half,
Avery Clanton took a corner kick.
Adi Myers capitalized on the placement, finding the net, and scoring another goal, slaying the Tiffin Dragons with a score of 4-1.
IUP had a major edge over Tiffin's offense. The Crimson Hawks had nine out of ten shots on goals compared to the Dragon's three out of six shots on goal.
Adi Myers and
Kat Morgan led the Crimson Hawks in shots, with each player taking two shots. The other six shots contributed to the team came from
Emily Lattea,
Julia Csernyik,
Hannah Scardina,
Elle Smith,
Avery Clanton, and
Kristen Finnerty.
