EDINBORO, Pa. – No. 22 IUP (10-1-3, 8-1-3) held onto their early advantage to defeat Edinboro (5-6-3, 5-6-1) 3-1 on Saturday evening at Sox Harrison Stadium.
This victory marks IUP's 10th win of the season and secures their spot in the PSAC Tournament.
IUP recorded 13 shots, with nine on target, and earned 12 corner kicks. In contrast, Edinboro managed only six shots, three of which were on goal.
Hannah Scardina opened the scoring at 2:21 with a high shot following a long pass from Katharina Bilz. Shortly after, Scardina netted her second goal of the game at 19:09, assisted by Lauren Gunsett, bringing her season total to 10 goals.
Edinboro responded with a penalty kick at 75:27.
In the final minute,
Emily Mannion awaited a pass from the throw in to get herself on the board, sealing IUP's 3-1 victory over the Fighting Scots.
