GREENSBURG, Pa. – No.23 IUP surpassed Seton Hill at Dick's Sporting Goods Field Wednesday afternoon, posting a 3-0 victory over the Griffins.
This marks the Crimson Hawks 11th win this season, improving to 11-1-3 overall and 9-1-3 in the PSAC. Seton Hill dropped to 5-6-5 overall and 3-6-4 in the PSAC.
IUP controlled the match from start to finish, holding an advantage over Seton Hill with a total of 23 shots compared to just seven for the Griffins. The Hawks also dominated on target shots, recording 11 while Seton Hill managed only two.
The scoring opened at 26:25 when Kat Morgan netted the first goal, taking advantage of a deflection off a defender, with Elle Smith credited for the assist. Smith then found the net herself at 41:04, scoring off a pass from Hannah Scardina after a quick give-and-go and a turnover.
The final score came at 61:38, as Emily Mannion had a well-placed shot to the left side of the goal, assisted by Emily Lattea.
Goalkeeper Makenna Yarrow played the full 90 minutes in net, recording two saves to preserve the shutout.
