FROSTBURG, Md. – The IUP swimming teams secured victories over Frostburg State on Saturday, with the men winning 110.5-94.5 and the women earning a 120-83 triumph.
IUP swimmers captured first place finishes in 17 of the 22 events, with several athletes earning multiple top finishes.
The day began with victories in the 200-meter medley relay. The women's team of Jordan Crupie, Katie Crosscut, Tina Cudina, and Lucy Vogt claimed first with a time of 2:03.06. On the men's side, Alexander Roth, Patrik Kudla, Luke Mikesell, and Nicholas Vaow secured the win in 1:47.23.
Mikesell delivered standout performances, taking first in the 800-meter freestyle (8:52.00), 200-meter freestyle (1:58.09), and 50-meter butterfly (26.50).
Summer Esson and Cudina led the women's team with each posting two first place finishes. Esson claimed victories in the 200-meter freestyle (2:12.61) and 400-meter freestyle (4:38.17). Cudina excelled with wins in the 100-meter IM (1:07.46) and 100-meter freestyle (1:01.14).
Ty Uhlig added two first-place finishes in the men's 800-meter freestyle (8:52.00) and 400-meter freestyle (4:15.51).
Patrick Kudla also impressed, finishing first in the men's 100-meter IM (1:00.84) and 50-meter butterfly (30.30).
