IUP women’s tennis continues cruising with shutout of Seton Hill

INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP women's tennis program registered its fifth straight win and third consecutive in shutout fashion with a 7-0 triumph on Saturday at the Maple Street Courts against Seton Hill.
 
IUP improves to 9-8 on the season and 4-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action. Seton Hill slips to 4-11 overall and 1-4 in the league.
 
With two more wins on Saturday, Katy Graydon has moved into the top 10 in IUP history in career singles (64; T10th), doubles (80; 6th) and combined (144; 7th) victories. She's on pace to become just the sixth player in program history with 150 or more combined wins, now just six total victories shy of the milestone.
 
Graydon and Lydia Vlachou began the day with a 6-0 blanking of Maria Pereda and Kendall McCluskey in doubles action. Vlachou continues climbing the IUP record book herself, now 11th all-time in career doubles wins (66) and combined victories (124).
 
Hannah Beitat and Veronica Sirci rolled their doubles winning streak to four with a 6-0 shutout of Kaylee Januka and Sophia Solomon. Ming Deewajee and Dani Ramos followed suit with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
 
In singles play, Vlachou logged the 58th win of her IUP career with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Kanuka. From there, Gryadon moved into a tie for 10th in program history with her 6-1, 6-0 triumph against maria Pereda.
 
Beitat capped her day at 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 decision at No. 5 singles. Dewajee secured the match for the Hawks with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Carissa Shepard.
 
Lina Teleshun nabbed her fourth consecutive singles win, handling McCluskey 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 6 flight. Ramos finished out the matchup with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 singles spot.
