BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- The IUP swimming teams faced Bloomsburg this afternoon at the Nelson Field House Pool. The women's team scored 92 points, while Bloomsburg's women secured the win with 110. On the men's side, IUP earned 75 points compared to Bloomsburg's 128.
This meet marked IUP's first competition since December 14 at Frostburg State. The Crimson Hawks achieved seven first-place finishes despite the team losses.
Summer Esson claimed first place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.57, while Tina Cudina won the 50 breaststroke, finishing in 30.48 seconds.
Both the men's and women's teams captured first place in the backstroke, with Kasha Stokes swimming a time of 28.04 and Ty Uhlig clocking in at 24.55. Ty Uhlig also secured another win in the 500 freestyle, finishing with a time of 4:40.92.
Nick Vaow added two first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (21.71) and the 100 freestyle (47.24).

IUP closes out the weekend in Newville with two sessions at the Big Spring High School's Natatorium, including the Pidgeon Memorial Invitational (10:00 a.m.) and the PSAC Last Chance Meet (2:00 p.m.).
