CALIFORNIA Pa. — Indiana University of Pennsylvania women's soccer rolled past California (Pa.) 4–0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday night at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.
Elle Smith put the Crimson Hawks on the board in the 18th minute off a pass from Melody Leiva. IUP pulled away after halftime, with Abby Caruso doubling the lead in the 52nd minute on an assist from Avery Clanton.
Caruso then set up Emily Lattea in the 73rd minute before Ava Geishauser capped the scoring in the 81st, finishing another Leiva assist.
The Crimson Hawks (6-1-1, 4-1-0 PSAC) controlled possession throughout, outshooting the Vulcans 13–3 with a 10–3 edge in shots on goal. IUP also earned five corner kicks and kept Cal (0-7-1, 0-4-1) from registering a shot until the second half.
Goalkeeper Autumn Bishop finished with six saves for the Vulcans. IUP's back line preserved its fifth shutout of the season.
The Crimson Hawks continue PSAC play this weekend when they travel to Erie to play Gannon.
