INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP field hockey team will host Kutztown on Friday, Oct. 11, at George P. Miller Stadium. While the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup is an important one for the Crimson Hawks, it will carry added meaning.
IUP will host its Team Impact Game to recognize a special member of the program — 9-year-old Kylie McMullen. Kylie, who became an honorary signee with the Crimson Hawks in September, has quickly become a beloved part of the team with her positive attitude, heart of gold and smile that lights up any room.
Kylie was diagnosed with cancer and joined the Crimson Hawks through Team Impact, an organization that connects children facing serious or chronic illnesses with college athletic programs. The goal is to create life-changing experiences and lasting bonds, something the IUP field hockey team has fully embraced with McMullen.
During the game, T-shirts will be sold and QR codes will be available for fans to donate to the family's GoFundMe campaign.
