INDIANA, Pa. – Indiana University of Pennsylvania defeated Slippery Rock in straight sets, 25-19, 25-17, 25-17, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup Friday night at the Kovalchick Complex.
The Crimson Hawks improved to 13-5 overall and 5-3 in the PSAC, while Slippery Rock dropped to 9-10 and 2-4 in league play.
IUP controlled the match from start to finish, out-killing Slippery Rock 41-23 and holding advantages in assists (38-22), digs (54-47), blocks (8-2) and service aces (6-3). The Crimson Hawks hit .259 as a team while limiting The Rock to a .054 hitting percentage.
The victory marked IUP's fifth conference win of the season as the team continued its strong play at home.
