INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP women's volleyball team defeated Clarion 3–1 (22–25, 25–21, 26–24, 25–22) on Saturday afternoon at the Kovalchick Complex in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play.
IUP (14–5, 6–3 PSAC) overcame a slow start after dropping the opening set to take the next three. The Crimson Hawks hit .156 as a team with 57 kills, while holding Clarion (9–11, 3–4 PSAC) to 40 kills and a .119 hitting percentage.
Delaney Concannon and Jessica Neiman each finished with 15 kills to lead IUP. Concannon added 12 digs, one ace and a block, while Neiman posted eight digs. Charlotte Potvin chipped in 11 kills on a .333 hitting percentage and two blocks.
Setter Ellie Rauch paced the offense with 45 assists and added 14 digs, while libero Brooke Kessler collected a team-high 18 digs.
Clarion was led by Claire Bickett with 15 kills on a .275 hitting clip. Raegan Stader tallied 11 kills and 12 digs, and Haley Fledderjohann also recorded 12 digs. Julia Rodriguez anchored the Golden Eagles' defense with eight total blocks.
After Clarion took the first set 25–22, IUP responded to even the match with a 25–21 win in the second. The Hawks edged out a tight third set 26–24 before sealing the match 25–22 in the fourth.
