IUP Field Hockey Cruises Past Slippery Rock 3-0

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — The Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks field hockey team earned a 3‑0 road victory over Slippery Rock on Tuesday at Mihalik‑Thompson Stadium.

IUP broke the scoreless tie in the second quarter when Lilly Fringer converted a penalty stroke for her fourth goal of the season. The Crimson Hawks extended the lead in the fourth quarter when Celeste Gorria Rial scored her first goal of the year, assisted by Jess Davidson. Davidson later added an insurance goal in the closing minute for her ninth of the season.

Goalkeeper Celeste Pagliaroli recorded the shutout. IUP dominated offensively, finishing with 17 shots — 11 on goal — compared to Slippery Rock's three, two on goal. The Crimson Hawks also controlled the penalty corners, 11‑2.

The win improves IUP's record to 8‑6, while Slippery Rock falls to 5‑11.
