INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP women's volleyball team swept Edinboro in straight sets, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16, Friday night at the Kovalchick Complex.
With the win, the Crimson Hawks improved to 16-5 overall and 8-3 in PSAC play. Edinboro dropped to 9-11 and 4-5 in the conference.
Junior outside hitter Delaney Concannon led the way with 13 kills and a .273 hitting percentage. Jessica Neiman added 11 kills, one ace and two blocks, while Ellie Rauch directed the offense with 35 assists and 11 digs. Brooke Kessler anchored the defense with a team-high 19 digs.
IUP finished with 43 kills and a .221 hitting percentage while holding Edinboro to 29 kills and a .130 clip. The Crimson Hawks also recorded four service aces and five team blocks.
For Edinboro, Makayla Neelands and Reilly Parent each tallied nine kills, with Parent contributing a team-best 11.5 points.
The first two sets were tightly contested, including a 25-23 battle in the second, but IUP closed out the match with a dominant 25-16 third set to complete the sweep.
