SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The IUP Crimson Hawks swim teams opened the fall season with a dominant showing at Shippensburg University, sweeping the Raiders in the first dual meet of the year and setting multiple pool records in the process.
The women's 200-yard medley relay team of Kasha Stokes, Tina Cudina, Gem Crittenden and Kaleese Jallow set a pool record with a time of 1 minute, 47.15 seconds — nearly eight seconds ahead of another IUP relay team that finished second.
Stokes wasn't done breaking records. She clocked a time of 2:05.48 in the women's 200-yard backstroke, winning the event by nearly 10 seconds over Shippensburg's Makennah Fickett.
