INDIANA, Pa. — The IUP volleyball team begins its quest to defend its PSAC Tournament title on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Kovalchick Complex, hosting Shepherd in the first round.
IUP clinched the No. 2 seed in the PSAC West after winning both weekend matches against Cal and Seton Hill. The Hawks finished the season with a 20-7 record, going 9-5 in PSAC West play. The team played to a 11-2 at the KCAC. Shepherd, the No. 3 seed in the PSAC East, finished 8–6 in conference play and 19–9 overall, entering the postseason on a two-match losing streak.
Both teams appeared in the most recent regional rankings, with IUP at No. 3 and Shepherd at No. 5.
The programs met earlier this season at the KCAC during the Crimson Hawk Classic, where IUP won in four sets: 25–19, 16–25, 25–19 and 25–14.
