LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — As the IUP football team prepares for its NCAA showdown against Assumption, the program is also celebrating an academic honor earned last week at Kutztown. Senior offensive lineman Freeman Wilson was named the PSAC Football Champion Scholar.
Wilson, a Harrisburg native, is a criminal justice major with a minor in wildlife preservation. He has completed 96 credits and is in his fourth season with the Crimson Hawks.
Wilson is the first IUP football player to receive the award since Sean Bowling in 2017.
