JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Indiana (Pa.) couldn't close out a tight second half Saturday, falling 82–80 to Ashland in a nonconference matchup.
IUP (2–1) led 42–41 at halftime behind hot perimeter shooting, but Ashland (3–1) matched the Hawks blow for blow throughout a game that featured eight ties and 14 lead changes for each side.
Christian Moore paced the Crimson Hawks with 18 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Kymani Merraro added 17 points, while Damir Brooks posted 14 points, six rebounds and four blocks. Dallis Dillard supplied 10 points and seven assists.
Ashland's Maceo Williams proved to be a force inside, finishing with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Cooper Davis added 22 points, and Max Dawson chipped in 13, hitting three 3-pointers.
IUP knocked down 13 3-pointers and forced 13 turnovers, but Ashland's efficiency inside — 30-for-51 from the field and 42 points in the paint — helped the Eagles outlast the Hawks late.
