INDIANA, Pa. — The Indiana University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team remained unbeaten Tuesday night, overwhelming Mansfield 110-48 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup at the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex.
IUP (7-0, 1-0 PSAC) used its depth and defensive pressure to pull away early and never looked back, forcing 25 turnovers and turning them into 34 points. The Crimson Hawks scored at least 25 points in every quarter and held Mansfield to 48 points on 30.9% shooting.
Teresa Maggio led IUP with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Nyshae' Weaver finished with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists. Madison Zavasky added 12 points off the bench as IUP finished with 52 bench points.
Marin Miller chipped in 11 points and six assists, and Belle Bosch added 10 points and six rebounds. The Crimson Hawks shot 59.7% from the field and outscored Mansfield 60-18 in the paint.
Katie Sheeler paced Mansfield (2-7, 0-2 PSAC) with 16 points and six rebounds. KJ Gordon added seven points, while Tyarah Woody scored six.
IUP took control early, leading 25-12 after the first quarter before extending the margin to 51-22 at halftime. The Crimson Hawks continued to push the tempo in the second half, outscoring Mansfield 59-26 over the final two quarters.
