Balanced IUP Rolls Past Bloomsburg, 87-55

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Indiana (Pa.) turned in a wire-to-wire performance Saturday afternoon, rolling to an 87-55 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's basketball victory over Bloomsburg at E.H. Nelson Fieldhouse.

The Crimson Hawks built a 45-25 halftime advantage and never allowed the Huskies to threaten, outscoring Bloomsburg 42-30 in the second half to move to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in PSAC play. Bloomsburg fell to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in conference action.

Kymani Merraro led IUP with 20 points, knocking down three 3-pointers and going a perfect 7 for 7 from the free-throw line. He also added two steals. Dallis Dillard finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Christian Moore scored 13 points on three made 3s.

Ian Herring provided a spark off the bench with 11 points and six rebounds, and Tyler Grove rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points as IUP placed five players in double digits.

IUP shot 40.7% from 3-point range and converted 20 of 23 attempts at the foul line. The Crimson Hawks also held a 29-16 advantage in bench points and forced 21 turnovers, turning them into 23 points.

Xion Nichols paced Bloomsburg with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including three 3-pointers. Kodi Johnson added 10 points for the Huskies, who shot 27.3% from beyond the arc and struggled to keep pace offensively.

IUP also held a 32-24 edge in points in the paint and controlled the tempo throughout, never relinquishing its early momentum.

The Crimson Hawks will continue PSAC play on Sunday as the team will take on East Stroudsburg on the road in IUP's final game of 2025.
