KUTZTOWN, Pa. — Teresa Maggio scored 19 points and Indiana University of Pennsylvania remained unbeaten with a 55–43 win over Kutztown on Friday afternoon at Keystone Arena.
IUP (6–0) used a dominant defensive performance to build an early lead, forcing 27 turnovers and converting them into 26 points. The Crimson Hawks also tallied 21 steals, including seven from Maggio, who shot 5 of 9 from 3-point range.
Nyshae Weaver posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds while adding four steals. Marin Miller added eight points and five assists, and Belle Bosch scored six.
IUP led 14–9 after the first quarter and extended the margin to 27–17 at halftime behind back-to-back 3-pointers from Maggio. Kutztown (3–3) never got within single digits in the second half until a brief push late in the fourth quarter.
Leila Hurley led the Golden Bears with 12 points, all from beyond the arc. Olivia Smelas added seven points, 15 rebounds and six steals, and Bella Quinn scored eight.
IUP shot 19 of 48 from the field and held Kutztown to 31 percent shooting, including 7 of 26 from 3-point range.
The Crimson Hawks continue PSAC play after finals, as they host Mansfield on Dec. 16.
