CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- The IUP baseball team dropped the series against California (Pa.) with two losses on the road this afternoon. Â
Top hitters on the day included four players notching two hits each, including Mike Huber, Mitchell Grosch, Robert Carfagno, and Ricardo Aponte.Â
Game oneÂ
IUP jumped out to an early lead in the top of the second inning, scoring four runs on four hits.Â
Robert Carfagno singled to center field, Cayden Bender drew a walk, and both advanced on a groundout. Au'sean Owens singled down the left field line, then stole both second and third base. Ricardo Aponte hit an RBI triple down the right field line, sending Owens across the plate. Mitchell Grosch followed with an infield single to shortstop, scoring Aponte. Mike Huber later reached on a walk, but a strikeout ended the rally with two runners left stranded.Â
Despite the early momentum, IUP left seven runners on base throughout the game, unable to capitalize. Â
The Vulcans responded with two runs in the third, four more in the fifth, and added their final run in the sixth. Â

In game two, the Vulcans scored the lone run in the bottom of the third. Â
