BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- The No. 31 IUP women's team earned a spot in the PSAC Championship match with their 5-0 win over East Stroudsburg in the semifinals, Friday morning.
IUP began the day winning the doubles point with wins in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Both pairs swept ESU with scores of 6-0.Â
In singles action, Annemiek Sterk at No. 6 singles was the first to finish and won with scores of 6-2, 6-0. Asel Calbay in No. 5 singles finished second with scores of 6-6, 6-3. Ming Deewajee earned her second win of the day at No. 2 doubles also with scores of 6-2, 6-3. Dani Ramos in No. 3 singles clinched the match with her 6-4, 6-2 win.Â
IUP will play Slippery Rock in the championship match at 6:00 p.m.Â
