INDIANA, Pa. – MORE THAN ATHLETES. Sixteen Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) athletic teams finished the 2025 spring semester with a team GPA over 3.0. Led by softball, which completed the semester with a department-high GPA of 3.76. Twenty of the team's 22 student-athletes made the Dean's List, while just under half of the softball players earned a 4.0 term GPA. Five of the IUP programs finished the spring semester with a team GPA of 3.50 or higher.
The department concluded the spring semester with a 3.29 cumulative GPA for the over 500 Crimson Hawks who participate in the varsity sports programs. This results in over 64 percent of our student-athletes making the Dean's List in the spring semester, and just under a quarter of the Crimson Hawk athletes achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA. With nine teams having at least 25 percent of their student-athletes finishing the semester with an ideal grade, this achievement is truly remarkable.
