BUFFALO, N.Y. – Wednesday marked the first road test for the IUP Field Hockey team as the Crimson Hawks traveled to take on D'Youville. The Hawks passed the test with flying colors and then some, recording their second consecutive shutout and out shooting the Saint 41-0, with 28 of the Crimson Hawk shots getting on goal.
Senior
Jess Davidson recorded three goals, including the first two of the game, and rounded it out with a tip-in for the eighth and final goal of the game. The hat trick was the first of Davidson's career and gave her four goals through the first two games of the season. Five other Crimson Hawks found the goal over the course of the game. Even without facing a shot, junior GK
Celeste Pagliaroli stayed perfect in goal.
IUP will head back to the state of New York for a Sunday match up against Roberts Wesleyan for a noon face off in Rochester. The Crimson Hawks will look to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2022.
