Volleyball Receives Forfeit Win, Fall to Northwood in Three Sets

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The IUP women's volleyball team's schedule went out the window when Central State, the Hawks' first opponent in the Walsh Tournament, withdrew from the tournament at 9:30 pm Thursday due to a lack of healthy players. The Crimson Hawks went from having a 2 pm first serve against CSU to playing Northwood at 6 pm.

In the match against Northwood, IUP dropped three straight sets to fall in a sweep for the first time since Oct. 22 of last season. Delaney Concannon was the first IUP player other than Jessica Neiman to lead the team in kills in a single match this season. Concannon had 14 kills while Neiman contributed 11 herself, the only two Hawks to record double-digit kills.

Concannon also had 13 digs to tie Ellie Rauch for the team high. Rauch had yet another game with over 30 assists, tallying 32, a game high.

IUP will have another schedule adjustment tomorrow as they will compete in just one match instead of two. The Hawks will take on the host at Walsh University at 2 pm.
