GREENSBURG, PA – Through three non-conference games, the IUP women's soccer team outscored opponents 13-1. The Crimson Hawks began PSAC play on Saturday as they traveled to Greensburg to take on Seton Hill at Dick's Sporting Goods Field, and they recorded another clean sheet, out shooting the Griffins 20-2 and defeating SHU 4-0 behind four second-half goals.
Elle Smith had a brace in the team's 3-1 win over Lake Erie College on Wednesday, and followed that up with one better, a hat trick. The flurry of goals for Smith gives her five in the previous two matches.
Ava Geishauser scored the final goal for the Hawks in the 89
th minute.
Seton Hill tallied two shots in the first half but was out shot 11-0 in the second half. The Griffins could not get a single shot on goal against the Crimson Hawks' back line.
IUP will stay in PSAC play this week, traveling to Clarion on Saturday, Sept. 20. The Hawks will play their second night game in the previous three, as kickoff will be at 7 pm at Al Jacks Field at Memorial Stadium in Clarion.
