Football Dominates Millersville in Record-Setting Day

INDIANA, Pa. – Before Saturday, a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) team had surpassed 700 yards of total offense in a game just 21 times. The IUP football team made it 22, racking up 717 yards in a dominant 70–24 win over Millersville at George P. Miller Stadium.

Maurice Masses had a breakout performance, recording four touchdowns and 173 receiving yards — the most by a Crimson Hawks receiver this season. Jeremiah Coleman hauled in two catches, both for touchdowns, going for 57 and 66 yards.

Quarterback Matthew Rueve set a school record with six touchdown passes, tying his career high — all without playing beyond the first series of the second half.

On defense, IUP limited Millersville to just seven first-half points and shut out the Marauders in the first and third quarters. The Hawks tallied five sacks, including two by Logan Danielson, and finished with seven tackles for loss.

Keyshawn McCasskill added a highlight-reel interception, high-pointing a deep pass over the middle. IUP defensive backs notched eight pass breakups, and the defense recorded seven quarterback hurries.

The quarterback tandem of Rueve and Zayd Etheridge went a combined 30-of-35 for 597 passing yards and eight touchdowns. The pair misfired on only five passes all game.

The Crimson Hawks also posted their most productive rushing game of the season, with six different players combining for 124 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns.

Six of IUP's 10 total touchdowns went for 20 yards or more. The Hawks scored 49 points in the first half alone — more than 10 PSAC teams scored in their full games this weekend, with Slippery Rock and Shippensburg still in action at the time of this report.

IUP (2-1) will look to keep rolling when it travels to Seton Hill on Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for noon in Greensburg.
