INDIANA, Pa. – Saturday was a perfect day for soccer on the South Campus pitch as the Oilers of Findlay invaded Indiana to take on the Crimson Hawks. It was a physical match that saw many collisions and time on the grass by both teams, ultimately ending in a scoreless draw.
There wasn't a shortage of chances as the teams combined for 13 shots in the match, with Findlay recording three shots on goal while IUP recorded two. A significant amount of time was spent in the middle third of the field, marked by numerous throw-ins, yet only four corners were taken, with three of them being taken by the Oilers.
Overall, there were 19 fouls in the game, with nine coming in the second half. Neither team was able to break through. IUP sophomore
Sarah Gatz was in goal for the Hawks and made three saves.
The Crimson Hawks will hit the road on Wednesday, Sep. 10, when they travel to Ohio to take on Lake Erie College. Kickoff for the match will be under the lights at 7 PM.
