INDIANA, Pa. — Indiana University of Pennsylvania stayed unbeaten in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play with a 67-58 win over Edinboro on Wednesday night at the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex.
IUP built separation in the third quarter, outscoring Edinboro 20-7 to turn a tight game into a double-digit advantage. The Crimson Hawks followed with steady free-throw shooting down the stretch to secure the victory.
Marin Miller led IUP with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting and added five rebounds. Nyshae' Weaver recorded 10 points and nine rebounds, while Teresa Maggio scored nine and Bella Bosch added eight. The Crimson Hawks shot 51.1% from the field and went 18 of 23 from the free-throw line.
Edinboro was led by Hope Garrity, who finished with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Taylor Blunt added 15 points, and Rachael Manfredo scored eight for the Fighting Scots, who shot 40% from the field.
The teams were separated by just two points at halftime before IUP took control in the third quarter. Edinboro cut into the lead late in the fourth, but the Crimson Hawks converted key free throws to maintain the cushion.
With the win, IUP improved to 16-0 overall and 9-0 in PSAC play, while Edinboro fell to 11-8 overall and 8-2 in conference action.
