INDIANA, Pa. — The Indiana University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team came up short in an 84-77 loss to California (Pa.) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex.
IUP stayed within striking distance throughout the night, but California (Pa.) used a strong second-half effort to pull away late and secure the road victory.
Christian Moore led all scorers with 29 points for the Crimson Hawks, shooting 9 of 19 from the field and 8 of 9 from the free-throw line. Moore added three 3-pointers in the effort. Dallis Dillard finished with 16 points and six rebounds, while Kymani Merraro chipped in 12 points.
The Crimson Hawks were competitive on the offensive end but struggled to slow California's scoring surge after halftime. The Vulcans capitalized on key possessions down the stretch to maintain control in the closing minutes.
Bryson Lucas led California (Pa.) with 27 points, while Antoine Arnett added 18 points. California shot efficiently as a team and made timely baskets when IUP attempted to close the gap.
