MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — The IUP women's lacrosse team built an early lead but could not hold off Millersville in a 13-10 PSAC loss on Saturday afternoon.
The Crimson Hawks controlled the opening half, scoring six goals while holding Millersville to two to take a 6-2 lead into halftime. IUP maintained the advantage early before Millersville surged in the third quarter, using a five-goal run to erase the deficit and tie the game.
Millersville carried that momentum into the fourth quarter, taking the lead and gradually pulling away despite several IUP comeback attempts. The Crimson Hawks cut the deficit to two goals late but were unable to close the gap down the stretch.
IUP finished with 26 shots, including 17 on goal, while Millersville recorded 33 shots with 18 on target. The Marauders held a narrow edge in saves.
Macenzie Haragos led IUP with three points on a goal and two assists. Alexi Crosby scored two goals, while Mia Martorano and Leah Moyer also found the net for the Crimson Hawks.
