MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Indiana (Pa.) baseball team struggled offensively Sunday in an 11-0 seven-inning loss to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East opponent Bloomsburg.
The Crimson Hawks were limited to three hits and committed three errors in the defeat.
Catcher Camden Rhude accounted for two of IUP's hits with a pair of singles. First baseman Devon Boyles added the other hit and drew two walks from the leadoff spot while going 1 for 2 on stolen-base attempts.
IUP used seven pitchers in the game, with Braden Shepherd taking the loss in his second appearance of the season. Shepherd allowed four runs on four hits over two innings. Only one of the runs charged to the Crimson Hawks was unearned.
Bloomsburg finished with 13 hits and broke the game open with a six-run third inning, collecting five hits in the frame.
IUP will return to action Saturday, March 7, when the Crimson Hawks travel to Columbus, Ohio, for a doubleheader against Ohio Dominican. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
