EDINBORO, Pa. — The Indiana University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 16 Findlay Sunday at the Edinboro courts.
Findlay (5-1) claimed the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches. In the top flight, Audrey Ouellet and Anamarija Kovacevic posted a 7-5 victory over IUP's Annemiek Sterk and Maria Moskaltsova, while the other two Findlay pairings also picked up straight-set wins.
In singles play, IUP's lone point came from Lea von Kozierowski, who battled past Findlay's Anamarija Kovacevic 7-6 (11), 3-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles.
The remaining flights went to the visitors:
• No. 2 — Maria Batinic defeated Asel Calbay 6-2, 6-4.
• No. 3 — M.V. Salek Rivero beat Moskaltsova 6-4, 6-1.
• No. 4 — Polina Zaytseva topped Charliz Tabili 7-6 (8), 6-3.
• No. 5 — Ouellet defeated Ifigeneia Kafka 6-1, 1-6, 6-4.
• No. 6 — Ivanova Lucero closed the match with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Elina Mondani.
The loss dropped IUP to 3-6 on the season, while Findlay improved to 5-1.
