Kelly Wins Gold, Sets Program Record as IUP Closes PSAC Indoors Strong

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Indiana (Pa.) track and field teams added more record-book performances and a conference title Sunday on the final day of the PSAC Indoor Championships at Lehigh University.

Bryna Kelly highlighted the day for the Crimson Hawks, winning the 60-meter hurdles and setting a new program record. Kelly crossed the finish line in 8.76 seconds, earning a Division II provisional qualifying mark in the process.

Freshman Kayla Rayne-Quinones made it a 1-2 finish for IUP, placing second in 8.83 seconds. Quinones improved upon her previous mark to strengthen her hold on the third-fastest time in program history.

Sterlene Scott also turned in another strong performance, finishing second in the 60 meters and third in the 200 meters. Scott clocked 7.78 seconds in the 60-meter final, while senior Emma Laughlin added a sixth-place finish in the same event. Scott later posted a time of 25.70 seconds in the 200 meters to secure her second podium finish of the day.

Senior Renee Simmonds contributed another record-book mark for the Crimson Hawks, recording a personal-best throw of 12.72 meters in the shot put. The mark moves her into third all-time in program history in the event.
