SALISBURY, N.C. — Maggie Boyle scored six goals to lead IUP to a 21-9 victory over Catawba in nonconference women's lacrosse action Saturday.
The Crimson Hawks used a balanced offensive effort and a strong second quarter to take control of the game. After leading 4-3 at the end of the first period, IUP outscored Catawba 5-1 in the second to take a 9-4 lead into halftime.
Boyle paced the IUP attack with six goals. Mila Prusak, Mia Martorano and Julia Steere each added three goals, while Alexi Crosby and Lauren Riggs scored twice. Macenzie Haragos and Leah Moyer each contributed a goal for the Crimson Hawks.
IUP continued to pull away in the second half, scoring six goals in both the third and fourth quarters to secure the win.
Catawba was led by Layne Macknik and Erynne McNulty with two goals each. Maddie Fox, Emily Better, Mary Sorvillo, Skylar Mullin and Ava Stanza each added a goal for the hosts.
The Crimson Hawks finished with eight different goal scorers in the victory.
