Crimson Hawks Cruise Past Millersville in PSAC Quarterfinals

INDIANA, Pa. — The Indiana University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team used a dominant first half to defeat Millersville University 77-43 in the PSAC Tournament quarterfinals Wednesday night at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex.

The Crimson Hawks set the tone early, jumping out to a 25-11 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 40-18 by halftime. IUP continued to control the game in the second half, maintaining its defensive pressure while steadily adding to the lead.

Teresa Maggio led all scorers with 24 points, knocking down three 3-pointers while shooting efficiently from the field. Nyshae' Weaver recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, while Ellie Wilkerson added 11 points and five rebounds.

IUP controlled the boards throughout the contest and capitalized on turnovers to create additional scoring opportunities. The Crimson Hawks also found consistent success inside, outscoring the Marauders in the paint while limiting Millersville's perimeter shooting.

Millersville was led by Bryn Zentner with 12 points, while Gabby Bowes finished with 11.

With the victory, the Crimson Hawks advance to the PSAC Tournament semifinals where they will take on Edinboro Saturday at noon in Erie, Pa.
