INDIANA, Pa. — The IUP women's tennis team continued its run against regionally ranked opponents Saturday, defeating Salem 6-1 while celebrating senior Annemiek Sterk.
The Crimson Hawks finished a stretch of four consecutive matches against ranked opponents unbeaten.
IUP swept the doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Two matches ended 6-1, while the No. 1 doubles team won 6-0.
In singles play, IUP won five of six matches. Hannah Beitat lost in a three-set tiebreak, while Sterk earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles on her senior day.
IUP returns to Maple Street Courts on Sunday to face Edinboro. First serve is set for 11:45 a.m.
