Swinnerton, Salazar Earn All-PSAC Honors in Final Seasons With Crimson Hawks

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional, IUP men's golf said goodbye to four senior leaders who helped shape the program over the last four years.

Among those departing seniors were Alex Swinnerton and Guillermo Salazar, who were both recognized by the PSAC as All-Conference performers after standout final seasons in the Crimson and Grey.

Swinnerton earned first-team All-PSAC honors after putting together one of the top seasons in the conference.

The senior finished the year with a 72.77 scoring average, just two strokes over par, while competing in 11 events. Throughout the season, Swinnerton consistently placed near the top of tournament leaderboards, recording four top-five finishes and six finishes inside the top 10.

He also recently earned PING All-Atlantic Region honors following the conclusion of the season.

Swinnerton leaves IUP as one of the most accomplished golfers in recent program history. Across his collegiate career, he played 125 rounds and finished with a career scoring average of 73.25.

Salazar also capped off his collegiate career with All-PSAC recognition, earning second-team honors after another consistent season for the Crimson Hawks.

The senior averaged just two strokes over par across nine events while recording one tournament victory and two top-five finishes during the year.

Salazar proved to be one of the team's most reliable competitors throughout his career and closed his time at IUP having played 120 rounds with a career scoring average of 74.42.

Both Swinnerton and Salazar helped lead the Crimson Hawks back to NCAA regional competition this spring while serving as veteran anchors for the program.

Their departures mark the end of an era for IUP golf, as the senior class helped maintain the program's competitiveness throughout their four years in Indiana.
