INDIANA, Pa. – IUP men's golf and head coach Dan Braun will welcome a familiar face to the coaching staff for the 2026-27 season, as former Crimson Hawk John Olsen returns to the program as an assistant coach.

Olsen, who is enrolled in IUP's Master of Business Administration program, returns to Indiana after completing a successful playing career as part of one of the most decorated classes in program history.

During his time in the Crimson & Gray, Olsen competed in 107 rounds and recorded eight top-10 finishes. He finished his career with a 76.30 scoring average while providing consistency throughout his time in the IUP lineup.

Olsen saved some of his best golf for his senior season, posting a career-low 74.45 scoring average. His career-low round of 68 came during the 2023-24 season, while he also carded multiple rounds of 69 during his career.

Olsen's experience within the program will provide Braun and the Crimson Hawks with a coach who is already familiar with the expectations and tradition of IUP men's golf. He competed alongside a senior class that helped continue IUP's standing as one of the premier programs in the Atlantic Region.

Olsen now transitions from student-athlete to coach as he continues his education at IUP, bringing recent playing experience and familiarity with the program to the Crimson Hawks' coaching staff.
