CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Junior Trevor Todd secured a top-10 finish as the IUP men's golf team wrapped up its season-opening tournament Thursday at the UC Invitational.

The Crimson Hawks entered the final round tied for third at 14-over par before carding a 16-over 296 over the final 18 holes. IUP finished the three-round event alone in sixth place at 30-over 870.

Todd entered Thursday tied atop the individual leaderboard at 4-under par following rounds of 67 and 69. The junior closed with a 6-over 76 to finish seventh overall at 2-over 212.

Sophomore Zaiden Dennis made a charge up the leaderboard in the final round, firing a 1-over 71 to climb 13 spots. Dennis finished second among the Crimson Hawks and tied for 15th overall at 6-over 216 following rounds of 75, 70 and 71.

Jon Vinge made IUP's biggest move Thursday, climbing 23 spots after carding a 2-over 72. Vinge finished tied for 36th at 12-over 222 alongside freshman teammate Sam Bishop, who posted rounds of 72, 71 and 79 in his collegiate debut.

Freshman Eli Bintrim rounded out the IUP lineup at 20-over 230 following rounds of 79, 74 and 77. Ben De Castro, competing as an individual, finished tied for 66th at 17-over 227.

West Chester claimed the team title at 25-over 865, finishing two strokes ahead of Wheeling. Davis & Elkins placed third at 28-over, while Glenville State and host Charleston tied for fourth at 29-over.

Glenville State's Daiki Aiura captured medalist honors with a 7-under 203. West Chester's William Hilton finished second at 1-under 209.
