Crimson & Gray Awards: Scholar-Athlete of the Year

The Scholar-Athlete of the Year is given to IUP men's and women's upperclassmen with the most impressive combination of success in the classroom and on their respective field of play.

Originally awarded to the seniors with the best cumulative grade point average, 2013-14 marked the first year that athletic accomplishments were considered. It became part of the Crimson & Gray Awards with their creation in 2017 but recipients were still selected by IUP Athletic Administration. Beginning with the third annual awards in 2019, coaches were allowed to nominate juniors or seniors with the selections coming from the voting panel.
