Senior forward Devon Cottrell has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, December 4. This is Cottrell's first career IUP weekly honor.
The captain had a huge Sunday, leading the 12th-ranked Crimson Hawks to a 77-76 win over eighth-ranked Kutztown with a rebound and game-winning putback with 0.1 seconds remaining. Earlier in the game, he became the program's all-time blocked shots leader with his 163rd, passing former National Player of the Year Darryl Webb (2007-11). Cottrell also tied a career-high with 18 points against the Golden Bears.
For the weekend, he averaged 14.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, and shot 70.6 percent from the field.
