Nicole Peterson were named IUP Athletes of the Week, announced by the sports information office Tuesday afternoon.
This is the second straight IUP weekly honor for Brown and the first for Peterson.
Both were also named PSAC Athletes of the Week in their respective sports.
Brown helped the Crimson Hawks to their fifth straight win to start the season, catching four passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns in a 17-6 win over Cal U.
Both of Brown's scores came on third-and-long plays, first burning a double-team for a 60-yarder in the third quarter to give IUP a 7-3 lead. The second came with four minutes to play in the fourth quarter, coming back to catch a pass on the sideline and breaking tackles for a 34-yard touchdown to give the Crimson Hawks a two-score lead.
Peterson had a big weekend as IUP women's volleyball split a pair of road conference matchups with West Chester and Millersville. The freshman posted a pair of 20-kill performances and hit .284.
She opened her weekend with 20 kills, six digs and a block in IUP's comeback five-set win over the Golden Rams, including important points down the stretch of a 27-25 fourth set rally to keep the match alive. Peterson followed that with 21 kills and two total blocks in a four-set loss to Millersville.
