Crimson Hawks in the Community
INDIANA, PA - The IUP women's soccer team showcased their commitment to the community this weekend when they volunteered at the Indiana Regional Medical Center on Friday, April 20. In addition, The Crimson Hawks hosted a charity indoor soccer tournament at the Memorial Field House on March 6 that benefited the Hearts for the Hungry Foundation.
On Friday, members of the squad along with head coach
Adel Heder and assistant Howard Magee pulled weeds, spread mulch on the driveway islands and assisted in various landscaping tasks for spring beautification at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. The Crimson Hawks will return to the hospital on April 27th to continue their efforts to improve the Indiana Area.
On March 6, the Crimson Hawks held Hearts a 5-on-5 co-ed indoor soccer tournament at the Memorial Field House, with all proceeds benefitting the Hearts for the Hungry initiative. The nine team, double-elimination tournament featured over 68 participants and raised $220.
The IUP Athletic Department is dedicated to giving back to the Indiana Community, and IUP student-athletes strive to make a difference in their neighborhood.
