Box Score
INDIANA, PA – On the day IUP officially renamed the field in honor of former head coach Frank Cignetti, the Crimson Hawks put on an offensive show, defeating Millersville 62-3 during the Homecoming game, Saturday afternoon.

Now Frank Cignetti Field at George P. Miller Stadium, Cignetti was recognized during a halftime ceremony for being inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame. IUP also officially renamed the field in Cignetti's honor.

Eight different Crimson Hawks would put points on the board, led by a two-touchdown performance from Izzy Green (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison) and another 100-plus total yardage day by De'Antwan Williams (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge). Quarterback Mike Box (Lawrenceville, GA/Collins Hill) added three passing touchdowns, hitting three different receivers.

IUP started things off quickly, scoring on its first drive of the game. The Crimson Hawks drove 61 yards on 10 plays, highlighted by a 44-yard end-around by Pat Brewer (Coatesville/Coatesville). Williams would run the ball in from the 3-yard line to give the seventh-ranked Crimson Hawks the 7-0 lead.

The Marauders, who were averaging only nine points per game, looked to answer on their next drive on the legs of running back Ian Sandon who ran for 54-yards on three plays of the drive. Millersville would eventually kick a 36-yard field goal to cut IUP's lead to 7-3.

Those three points would be the first and the last of the game for the Marauders.

On its next possession, IUP was afforded with great field position, after Brewer returned the kickoff 59 yards to the Millersville 34-yard line. Box would find Terrill Barnes (Gettysburg/Gettysburg) for a 23-yard catch and run and the Crimson Hawks would take the 14-3 lead.

To wrap up the first quarter, Sean McVay (Miami, Fla./Miramar) and Box connected on a 7-yard pass giving IUP the 21-3 lead.

Box would record his third passing touchdown of the game on the offense's first possession of the second quarter, connecting with Tyler Dummermuth (New Philadelphia, OH/New Philadelphia) from six yards out to cap off an 14-play, 87-yard drive.

IUP forced the first of three turnovers during the Marauders' next possession, when Ali Muhammad (Kingston, Pa. /Wyoming Valley West) forced running back David Coates to fumble and Jay Watkins (Chester, Pa. /Hyde School) recovered, taking the ball 20 yards for the touchdown, and giving IUP the 35-3 advantage.

Eric Williams (Yardley/Pennsbury) intercepted Millersville quarterback Curtis Frye on the first play of the Marauders' next possession, recording his third interception in as many games, giving IUP possession of the ball at its own 32-yard line.

The Crimson Hawks would run the clock down and closed out the half leading 35-3.

Rasheed Johnson energized the Marauders to start of the second half, intercepting a pass from Box that deflected off the hands of Dummermuth. The IUP defense, however, did not allow them to capitalize on the turnover.

Green was the key to success in the second half, rushing for 59-yards on six plays on IUP's next drive, scoring his first touchdown of the game.

Another turnover from the Marauders gave IUP excellent field position after Chris Brown (Altoona/Bishop Guilfoyle) intercepted quarterback Connor Casey and ran the ball 41 yards to the Millersville 21. Steve Franco (Tyrone, Pa. /Tyrone ) would find Khaliq Coleman (Philadelphia/Milton-Hershey) on the next play to add to IUP's lead. The touchdown was Coleman's first of his college career.

Franco followed that up with his first career rushing touchdown running it in from the 1-yard line early in the fourth quarter.

IUP wrapped up its offensive explosion when Green ran for his second touchdown of the game following six hard-fought runs from Patrick Ferguson (Pittsburgh/Taylor Allderdice) and a 12-yard pass from Franco to Ben Simmen (Oakdale/West Allegheny). Green ran the ball in from five yards out and secured the victory for IUP. The extra point snap was fumbled, but IUP still claimed the 62-3 win.

The Crimson Hawks were dominant on both sides of the ball, finishing with 521 total offense yards and holding Millersville to just 180 yards.

Box went 10-of-12 on the day with 136 yards, three touchdowns and just one interception. Backup Franco was 6-6 with 82 yards, adding one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown.

Green finished the game with his first 100-yard performance, going 103 yards on 16 carries and adding two touchdowns. Williams finished just shy of the 100-yard mark, with 98 yards on 13 carries and one touchdown. He also had a 29-yard reception.

Ten different players finished the day with at least one catch, led by Barnes who had 45 yards on three receptions with one touchdown. McVay, Dummermuth and Coleman rounded out the four IUP receivers to record a score.

Kevin Clarke (West Mifflin, Pa. /West Mifflin) led the way for the IUP defense, recording seven total tackles, followed by Shane Meisner (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield ) who finished with five. Jordan Batts (Homestead, Pa. /Jeannette) had a solid day, recording a sack for a loss of 10 yards, as well as a pass breakup.

The Crimson Hawks will hit the road next week, traveling to Slippery Rock in a PSAC West battle. The Rock enters the game with a 4-1 record, averaging 50.4 points per game, but allowing opponents to score an average of 31.2. Led by quarterback Nigel Barksdale, who has already thrown for 18 touchdowns on the season with 1,765 passing yards, The Rock has been explosive on offense.

IUP will storm into enemy territory next Saturday, taking on The Rock at 2 p.m. from Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
