INDIANA, PA – Bloomsburg scored a combined nine runs in the seventh inning of both ends of the doubleheader as IUP was swept by the Huskies in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover baseball action on Tuesday at Dougherty Field.

Tice opened the scoring for the Crimson Hawks in the first inning with a solo homerun to tie the score at 1-1. They put together a four-run second, including a run-scoring single by Tice as IUP took a 5-1 lead. Bloomsburg to its second run in the fifth, forcing a bases loaded walk with two outs.

IUP took a 3-1 lead in the third inning of game two, getting RBI singles by Jordan DeLuca (Broad Top/Tussey Mountain) and Robbie Zinsmeister (Hatfield/North Penn) while Foster was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for force in another.

The Huskies had a big inning in their half of the fourth with three runs on five hits, taking a 4-3 lead. They went on top 5-3 the following inning with an RBI triple deep to center field.

Tice tied it up at 5-5 in the bottom half of the fifth with his second homerun of the day, blasting a two-run shot over the fence in left field.

Again the Huskies did their damage in the final inning, knocking a pair of doubles and a triple and forcing two walks to score five runs and take a 10-5 lead. IUP added a run in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Lupia (Middletown/Middletown) but it was too little and too late for the Crimson Hawks.
