Kaylee Prendergast (West Chester/Villa Maria Academy) tallied six runs batted in on the afternoon including the contest's only RBI in game two as the IUP softball team notched its third consecutive sweep with a pair of wins over Seton Hill Tuesday. The Crimson Hawks waltzed to a 9-2 victory in game one before edging out the Griffins with a 1-0 win in game two.

Prendergast was an offensive machine in game one, tallying five RBI and a trio of hits as the Crimson Hawks coasted to a 9-2 victory.
IUP posted a trio of runs in the second thanks to a pair of RBI singles from Prendergast and
Jen Beaver (Chester Springs/Owen J. Roberts), and a double from
Mary Ward (Hatfield/North Penn) that scored
Allison Viguers (West Chester/West Chester East).
The Griffins scored their only runs of the afternoon in the bottom of the second, when Beth Anne Swartzwelder smacked a two-run homer to slice the IUP lead to just one.
Seton Hill would not come any closer, however, as the Crimson Hawks would tack on a pair of runs in the fourth to take a commanding 5-2 lead.
Ward went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored in game one, while Jasa mitchell went 2-for-3 for the Crimson Hawks.
Tara Senn (Eagle/Downington East) notched the win in the circle, allowing just five hits in four scoreless innings of work.

Prendergast's big day continued in game two, as the sophomore's game-winning RBI single in the seventh would salt away the 1-0 win and the twinbill sweep for the Crimson Hawks.
Locked in a scoreles tie after six, Ward led off the top of seventh with a double to set the stage for a big inning. Just two batters later, the Crimson Hawks would finally break through on the scoreboard when Prendergast smacked her sixth RBI of the afternoon to give IUP a 1-0 lead.
The one run advantage would be more than enough for Senn, who scattered just five hits and struck out two in a complete game shutout win. Christine Henderson was equally impressive in the circle for the Griffins,surrendering just the one run on four hits while striking out five in seven innings of work.
Prendergast went 1-for-3 in game two, while Ward, Viguers and
Christi Mauk (Claysburg/Claysburg-Kimmel) had the other IUP hits. Taylor Swatsworth went 1-for-2 at the plate for Seton Hill. IUP improves to 17-8 on the season with the win, while the loss drops the Griffins to 5-11.
The Crimson Hawks return home this Friday to host Lock Haven in a PSAC central doubleheader from Podbielski Field. First pitch in game one is set for 2:30 p.m.
