INDIANA, Pa. – IUP softball announced the addition of former Crimson Hawk standout Renee Wall as an assistant coach.
"We are excited to welcome Renee back to IUP," IUP head coach Shawna Bellaud said. "Having coached her as a player, it is especially meaningful to now have her alongside me on our staff. Renee understands this program and what it means to be a Crimson Hawk. The experience she has gained at Bucknell and Coastal Carolina will bring valuable perspective to our team, and I look forward to seeing her help our student-athletes grow on and off the field."
Wall returns to Indiana after a decorated playing career with the Crimson Hawks. A two-time All-PSAC selection as an infielder, Wall was named the PSAC Freshman of the Year in 2018 before earning PSAC Athlete of the Year honors in 2019.
Wall returns to IUP after spending the 2025-26 season as the director of softball operations at Division I Coastal Carolina. With the Chanticleers, Wall assisted with daily practice and game-day operations while coordinating team travel, home tournament scheduling and equipment operations. She also assisted with official and unofficial recruiting visits, budget planning and other day-to-day aspects of the program.
Prior to Coastal Carolina, Wall spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Division I Bucknell from 2023-25. During her time with the Bison, Wall helped coach nine All-Patriot League selections, six Patriot League All-Tournament selections, five Academic All-Patriot League honorees and 14 CSC Academic All-District selections. Bucknell earned third-place finishes in the Patriot League Tournament in both 2024 and 2025.
Wall worked extensively with Bucknell's offense and defense while assisting with recruiting and player development. She coached first base during games, evaluated prospective student-athletes and managed official and unofficial recruiting visits. Wall also compiled and analyzed offensive performance data and designed structured practice plans to aid player development.
Before entering the Division I ranks, Wall gained coaching experience at the high school and travel levels in Pennsylvania. She served as a head and assistant coach with Frozen Ropes-Hershey Softball, working with the organization's 16U and 18U teams. Wall provided individual and team instruction in hitting, pitching and fielding while developing structured practices focused on strength, agility and game awareness.
Wall also spent the 2022-23 season as an assistant softball coach at Palmyra Area High School, where she assisted with player development, practice planning and strength and conditioning.
Her coaching career includes a previous stop in Indiana, serving as an assistant coach with the Bullpen Bulls 16U program from 2021-22. In that role, Wall worked with players on hitting, pitching and defensive development while assisting with game strategy and conditioning.
Wall is a two-time graduate of IUP. She earned her bachelor's degree in criminology in 2021 before completing her master's degree in criminology in 2022.
