EAST STROUDSBURG, PA - IUP field hockey drops to 6-9 overall after a 5-1 loss to No. 8 East Stroudsburg Saturday on the road.
This is the Crimson Hawks second consecutive loss after falling to Slippery Rock 1-0 last Saturday in overtime.
Overall, IUP was outshot by the Warriors 24-2, with only
Haley Fidler (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) and
Jess Kida (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley) tallying shots. East Stroudsburg controlled the ball throughout most of the 70 minutes.
The Crimson Hawks lone goal of the game came from Fidler in the 34th minute of play.
IUP will finish its season in the next week with two matchups on the road. First, the team will face Bloomsburg Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. The Crimson Hawks will see their last competitor of the 2014 season next Saturday, Nov. 8, at Millersville.
